THE Zambia Army has expressed interest in ordering locally produced boots from Zamleather, a subsidiary Zambeef Products PLC. This was expressed when a Zambia Army team, led by their Commander Lieutenant General Sitali Alibuzwi, toured the Zamleather factory yesterday. During the tour, Zamleather General Manager Richard Franklin said the business had gone from making only 20 pairs of shoes per day to 1,000 and expressed hopes of doubling this figure if partners like the Zambia Army came on board. “We as a business, when Richard and I started we were making 20 pairs of shoes per day and it was much of a side business where we consumed everything that we didn’t sell to the external market.
