THE Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) says the country’s annual inflation for March 2024 has increased to 13.7 percent from the 13.5 percent recorded in February 2024. ZamStats has revealed that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates for the fourth quarter of 2023 show that the economy grew by 8.0 percent from the 4.6 percent recorded in the same period in 2022. At a media briefing, Thursday, ZamStats Acting Statistician General Chola Daka attributed the rise in inflation to price movements of selected food items. “Annual inflation for March 2024 increased to 13.7 percent from 13.5 percent recorded in February 2024.
