THE Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has launched the updated Rural Electrification Master Plan (REMP) 2025 to 2030 aimed at achieving universal access to affordable and modern energy. The Master Plan targets at making 2.5 million energy connections by 2030. Officiating at the launch, Tuesday, Energy Minister Makozo Chikote said achieving universal access to energy required approximately $1.52 billion over the period 2025 to 2030. “Achieving universal access will require significant investment. The plan estimates that approximately $1.52 billion will be required over the period 2025 to 2030. This underscores the importance of strengthening partnerships.
