GRAIN Traders Association of Zambia (GTAZ) Spokesperson Yotam Mkandawire says the association is projecting to purchase about 600,000 metric tonnes of maize this season. However, Mkandawire says volatile prices and surplus stocks in neighbouring countries are dampening export prospects. According to the crop forecast survey, the country is projecting to have a bumper harvest of 4.9 million metric tonnes of maize.
