Lusaka magistrate Ireen Wishimanga has commanded National Guidance and Religious Affairs minister Godfridah Sumaili  to appear before her court on Monday  to answer for allegations of contempt of court.

In this matter opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema asked the court to institute contempt of court proceedings against Sumaili over her prejudicial comments that “HH pushed lungu to the wall by not recognising him as the president and that is why he is in prison”.

Magistrate Wishimanga is now presiding over the matter after magistrate Thandose Chabala recused herself from handling the case.

Hichilema says the statement by Sumaili is likely to prejudice him in his treason case.
