THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has heard that USA-based vlogger Ethel Edwards, also known as Chisono, is in the process of commencing a plea bargain with the State, in a matter where she was dragged to court for insulting President Hakainde Hichilema. A plea bargain is an arrangement between prosecutors and accused persons, whereby the accused pleads guilty to a lesser charge in exchange for a more lenient sentence or an agreement to drop other charges. In this case, Edwards is facing four counts of seditious practices and hate speech, allegedly directed at President Hichilema.
