MIDLANDS Amateur Boxing association secretary Christian Kalima says a new Zambia Boxing Federation executive is the only thing that can uplift the standards of boxing in the country.
In a statement today, January 24, 2017, Kalima alleged that the Thomas Chileshe led executive had failed to develop the sport.
“We are also happy that National Sports Council of Zambia will take charge of the election process. The current president and his General Secretary have no vision for boxing. They are only interested in abusing affiliation fees, they have never remitted back what belongs to the associations,” Kalima said.
He stated that MABA, Southern Province Amateur Boxing Association (SPABA) and Copperbelt Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) had vowed to rally behind candidates with fresh ideas.
“Our candidates enjoy massive support from MABA, SPABA and CABA. We have no doubt that our team is coming to uplift the fallen standard of boxing in our beloved country Zambia,” said Kalima.
ZBF is set to its elective Annual General Meeting this Saturday January 28, 2017 in Kabwe.
