THE Chelstone Local Court has heard that a woman of Ng’ombe Compound invited a prophet to her home and undressed in front of her husband and others, despite his opposition to visiting prophets, whose prayers he considers ‘dark’. Emmanuel Mwanza also told the court that his wife also started seeking prayers from a woman known as Mama Maureen, who instructed her to eat soil, claiming it carried God’s power. This is in a matter where Patricia Njovu, 45, sued her husband, Emmanuel, 50, for divorce after they had been separated for six months. She alleges that her husband calls her a wizard, says she is insane, accuses her of being a prostitute, beats her, and prevents her from seeking prayers....
