ACTORS Kondwani Elliott Zulu and Kapembwa Wanjelani are taking Zambian talent to the international stage in ‘Copperbelt’, a new play written by Zambian-Canadian writer and actor Natasha Mumba. The play explores the Copperbelt region and examines the mining sector, highlighting how Zambia and Canada share profits and questioning who ultimately benefits. The story follows Eden, a woman working at a major mining company in Toronto, who must return home when her father suddenly falls ill. While in Zambia, she navigates family expectations, personal ambitions and the complicated dynamics surrounding a wealthy mining family.
