PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has announced that the party will go for a general conference in 2020.
In a statement issued by PF Media Director Sunday Chanda, Mwila stated that the general conference would be preceded by party elections which would start on July 1, 2018.
Mwila advised party members to follow laid down procedures when filing in for vacant positions.
Mwila also directed ministers to be paying courtesy calls on the district party structures whenever they are within the vicinity so as to close the disconnect between the two.
“This is important in closing the disconnect, whether real or apparent in certain cases between government and party structures. It is in the Party’s interest that Government ministers synchronize their work with that of the party because everything is premised on the 2016-2021 Party election manifesto,” said Mwila.
“We want to ensure that the Party understands what Government ministers are doing and vice versa. Ministers can only succeed if they do not lag behind or go ahead of the Party. This is where the synchronization because critical. This move will also enable party structures to be up to date with information as they carry out mobilization exercises.”
