THE Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) says while the US government’s health aid is welcome, the country shouldn’t forget to build systems that can still thrive minus donor funding. The United States government is expected to commit US$1.5 billion to support Zambia’s health sector for the next five years, starting April 2026. The Global Health Security and Diplomacy Team from the United States of America is in the country for the next few days for meetings that will culminate in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Zambian and the United States governments next month.
