THE Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) has welcomed government’s decision to reject the United States health funding package, stating that it demonstrates principled leadership. A consortium of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) has, however, expressed disappointment over government’s failure to disclose the contents of the MoU reportedly signed between Zambia and the United States concerning health aid. The CSOs, which include LCK Freedom Foundation, Transparency International Zambia and Chapter One Foundation, argue that government’s continued refusal to clarify the MoU and the Bilateral Compact Agreement undermines public trust and fuels legitimate concerns.
