THE Mufulira Magistrate Court has granted former Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi and six others bail in the sum of K200,000, in their own recognizance. Yuyi, who was fired and arrested for “Theft by Public Servant” had been given a lesser charge of “fraudulently dealing in metals”. Particulars of the offence are that Yuyi, Allan Mukale, Patrick Muti, Boniface Nchimunya, Edward Banda, Obrian Chipunza and Daniel Makina, on dates unknown, but between the 10th day of March 10 and March 23, 2026 in Mufulira, jointly and whilst acting together did take, conceal and dispose of 34844.96KG Copper Cathodes valued at $448,596, with intent defraud Zero Degrees Investment (PTY) Limited.
