MINISTER of Community Development and Social Services Doreen Mwamba has lamented that street kids are not interested in accessing empowerment funds despite the loans being available for them. In an interview, Mwamba said very few street kids were willing to undergo skills or financial literacy training in order to access the empowerment funds under CDF. “It is our wish as a Ministry not to see any child living on the streets. Apart from the loans that we launched as the government, there is also an empowerment where the street child, be it female or male, there’s an empowerment for them under CDF.
