FINANCE and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says suspects in the alleged abuse of public funds at the Ministry have not been suspended because there is need to recognise their innocence until proven guilty. Recently, Secretary to Cabinet Patrick Kangwa refuted social media reports that some senior government officials had been fired following investigations of abuse of office at the Ministry of Finance. Kangwa said affected Permanent Secretaries were only transferred to the Cabinet Office while Directors had been transferred to the Public Service Management Division to pave way for investigations into irregular payments.
