Lusaka lawyer Lewis Mosho has written to the Roan and Mazabuka central members of parliament Chishimba Kambwili and Garry Nkombo respectively, demanding K5 million as compensation after the Lusaka High Court threw out the dual’s petition to join the impeachment case with costs.

On Thursday last week, the Lusaka High court dismissed an application by Kambwili and Nkombo to join the case and condemned them with costs.

Mosho’s law firm, Lewis Nathan Advocates has now given the duo a 7-day ultimatum in which to pay.

This is according to a letter dated May 24, 2018 and addressed to their lawyers from Malambo and Company, CL Mundia and Company and Muleza Mwiimbu and Company.

“Further to the ruling delivered by the High Court on 24th May, 2018, wherein the 1st and 2nd independent joinders (Honourable Chishimba Kambwili and Honourable Garry Nkombo) were condemned to pay costs, we write to advise that we peg our collective costs at a modest ZMW 5,000,000.00 (Zambian Kwacha Five Million) for urgent settlement by your respect clients. Should we not receive the said costs within seven days from the date hereof, we reserve our rights. Kindly acknowledge safe receipt,” read the letter.
