THE Court of Appeal has granted a stay of execution of the High Court judgement forfeiting Chawama PF MP Tasila Lungu’s Sinda farm to the state. Court of Appeal Judge Kelvin Muzenga has, however, ordered Tasila not to sell the farm until her appeal is determined. Meanwhile, Tasila’s lawyer, Charles Changano, says his client can still develop the farm because it is now in her possession. On September 17, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Court (EFCC), High Court Division, ordered the forfeiture of Tasila’s Sinda farm valued at K8,849,098 to the state, on grounds that it was a proceed of crime.
