FORMER FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala says there is need to look at the plight of referees to avoid them engaging in match-fixing. Last weekend, match officials in the lower divisions boycotted games in more than three provinces, demanding that the FAZ settle their unpaid allowances and improve their transport refunds. That was preceded by FAZ’s suspension of Referees Manager Aziph Banda to allow for investigations into allegations of match-fixing. The FA then called for a round table meeting with representatives of referees, where they agreed to end the boycott when FAZ settled their unpaid dues.
