A 32-YEAR-OLD woman of Mandevu Compound has been granted divorce after she dragged her husband to court, citing his excessive beer drinking, irresponsible behaviour, and failure to provide for their family. Mercy Chabusha, who had been married to Joseph Kabuku, 37, of Kanyama Compound, told the Matero Local Court that their marriage was troubled from the start, having only dated for three days before tying the knot in 2019. The couple has been separated for a year and shares a one-year-and-11-month-old child. When the matter came up before Magistrate Harriet Mulenga on February 17, 2025, Chabusha pleaded for the dissolution of their marriage, stating that she was exhausted from dealing with her husband’s neglect. “I am tired of this marriage...
