THE Auditor General’s report on accounts of parastatal bodies for the financial year ended December 31, 2021 has revealed that the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission had non-performing loans amounting to K283,198,666 as at September 30, 2022. The report further revealed that some of the loans had been outstanding as far back as 2008. “During the period under review, the Commission disbursed amounts totalling K10,839,395 to 27 empowerment beneficiaries for projects such as wood processing, cassava processing and auto panel beating.
