WORLD Bank Vice President Eastern and Southern Africa Victoria Kwakwa says the African continent is facing a serious human capital crisis which needs urgent attention. And Dr Kwakwa says a lot is at stake for the global community because by 2050, Africa will represent almost 40 per cent of the children, zero to 14 years, and a quarter of the working- age population in the world. Meanwhile, Dr Kwakwa has advised African governments to build their capacity to deploy teachers equitably and ensure they have the teaching and learning materials they need to do their jobs effectively.
