A CONSORTIUM of civil society organisations has condemned government’s decision to cancel the RightsCon 2026 Summit, saying Zambia’s reputation as a nation committed to democratic governance has suffered a serious and avoidable blow. The CSOs include LCK Freedom Foundation, ActionAid Zambia, Chapter One Foundation, Transparency International Zambia and the Zambia Council for Social Development. Government announced the postponement of the RightsCon Global Summit 2026, citing the lack of full disclosure of what would be discussed at the conference and lack of security clearance for some delegates.
