DON’T vote for a young man who is intoxicated after eating left over nshima and thinks he can be President, President Hakainde Hichilema has warned Zambians.

And President Hichilema says if Zambians vote for Brian Mundubile they will be exhuming problems which were buried with the PF in 2021.

The Head of State also promised to construct a dual carriageway from Livingstone to Kazungula.

Addressing a rally in Kazungula, Monday, President Hichilema in said the office of the President needs one who has love and heart for the people like himself.

“On August 13, don’t just vote anyhow. Don’t vote for a young man who has just eaten imindala [left over nshima] and says he wants to be President. Kansunsa kalukwe [he is pulling up his oversize trousers] and says he wants to be President, he has no job. Being a President is a heavy undertaking, it is not a simple undertaking. Being a President is not just waking up and saying I want to be President. The presidency needs a person who loves people like Hakainde Hichilema, or you will not see development,” President Hichilema warned.

He added that voting for NRPUP would lead to problems.

“We buried the PF at the graveyard in 2021, they lie there until Jesus Christ comes. If you want to exhume them then you are exhuming problems. They were beating people not based on tribe, but just because they were UPND. If you exhume them then you are bewitched,” President Hichilema said.

He further warned the UPND Kazungula North unopposed parliamentary candidate Dr Clement Andeleki and his Kazungula South parliamentary candidate Siasiloka Mukuni to work together after continued differences, threatening that if they did not grade feeder roads they would know his bitter side.

The President further urged Kazungula District voters to get and use whatever the independent and other opposition political party candidates give them but not to vote for them.

“If they give you sugar, get and eat, but for the human being discard. If they give ka K100,000 get and use but for the human being discard,” he said.

In Kalomo President Hichilema said the NRPUP presidential candidate and his team were ‘copy typists’.

“Whatever I say, they say also me. They used to call me a calculator boy, but doesn’t a calculator need brains?” he wondered.

President Hichilema revealed that there is a lot of work he wanted to get done going forward.

“There is work going forward and [I] promised to increase [inputs for] farmers who are on the Farmer Input Support Programme. Don’t vote for someone whose pants don’t fit and says he will increase the maize floor price to K500 per bag. He does not understand farming, if that was to happen a bag of mealie meal will cost K600, the cost of living will go up. We want farmers to make profit as we reduce the cost of living. That floor price he is suggesting is for soya beans and wheat. They are different, so when he sees the prices he thinks they are the same. He does not understand farming, I am a farmer and I understand farming. We need a balancing act,” President Hichilema said.

He also promised to build a police post at Luyaba.

“We will also introduce a cattle restocking exercise and soft loan system to enable you buy cattle restocking,” President Hichilema said.

In Livingstone President Hichilema promised to have a state university built and also a dual carriageway from Livingstone to Kazungula.

“We have done so many things, I can say so many things in five years and four months. All the township roads here in Livingstone will be tarred. We are putting more money here in Livingstone, and the two constituences so that we make Livingstone a true tourist destination. We will put a dual carriageway from Livingstone to Kazungula. You know the gorges [Songwe Gorges]? We are building a new bridge [to link Zambia and Zimbabwe] is that not good? So vote for the UPND,” he said

President Hichilema said foreign tourist arrivals had increased under the UPND leadership and that a new target of new arrivals of five million was set.

“We have sustained tourism in Livingstone,” he said.

With regards the newly employed nurses, President Hichilema urged the health workers to be serious and attend to patients instead of being on mobile phones.

“If you find one on phone, grab that phone. When they ask tell them that it is Bally who instructed us to do so,” said President Hichilema.
