PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has taken an early lead over Brian Mundubile and 11 other candidates polling 438,708 votes. President Hichilema leads his closest rival with more than 87,427 votes. The Electoral Commission of Zambia has so far announced results for 49 out of the 226 constituencies with a total of 807,568 valid votes counted. With the results announced so far, President Hichilema’s 438,708 votes represent about 54.32 per cent of the 807,568 valid votes announced. Mundubile trails by about 10.82 per cent with his 351,281 votes which represents 43.50 per cent.
