A 40-year-old Lusaka man has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates’Court for forging a Patriotic Front identity card.

Kelvin Mwamutanda of Ngwerere compound is facing one count of forgery.

It is alleged that Mwamutanda on July 4, 2017, with intent to defraud or devieve, forged an identity card with the number 659447/11/1 purporting to show that the ID was geninuely issued by the PF when in fact not.

Police had recorded a statement from PF deputy spokesperson Frank Bwalya who indicated that the ruling party did not issue any indentity cards to its members and therefore, people should disregard such an ID.

Mwamutanda is expected to take plea before magistrate Muzambalika Simwatachela soon.
