GO Mama Go hitmaker Karasa Karayo has put the spotlight on nightlife, saying nightclubs keep spinning local hits every night while failing to pay artistes the royalties they deserve. Speaking at the ZAMCOPS Annual General Meeting, the Reggae Dancehall sensation, whose real name is Kalaluka Kunyanda Kaingu, argued that while TV and radio stations are regulated and contribute to royalties, nightclubs continue to profit from the country’s music without giving back to the very creators who make the hits possible.
