Zesco stays on course for Confederation Cup

Zesco United on Sunday stayed on course for 2017 CAF Confederation Cup group stage qualification following a dramatic 2-2 away draw with Enugu Rangers in Nigeria.
The Ndola side battled from one-down at halftime against the Nigerian champions to snatch  the vital away goals to take into this weekend’s final leg.
Enugu took a 1-0 halftime lead from the penalty spot through Chibuzor Madu in the 24th minute.
Osas Okoro added the second in the 46th minute to send Zesco reeling.
However, Zesco defender David Owino cut the lead with a 72nd minute goal.
New signing from demoted  Mufulira Blackpool, striker Patrick Kongolo, scored the crucial equaliser in the 76th minute.
A win or 0-0 home draw on April 15 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola will be enough to secure Zesco’s place in this years Confederation Cup group phase that kicks off in May.
