THE Zambia Meteorological Department (MET) says Tropical Cyclone Freddy which was anticipated to hit Zambia has changed its direction and it’s now on the eastern side of Zimbabwe. In an interview, Tuesday, MET Senior Meteorologist Peggy Thole said the cyclone has changed direction after it became weak when it made landfall in Mozambique. “What we have seen for the cyclone [is that] when it made landfall over Mozambique, it became weak and turned into a tropical depression which we call a low pressure system. Initially, the track was showing that it would come through Kariba but it has slightly changed direction in that it has been over the borders of Zimbabwe and Mozambique, it’s on the eastern side of Zimbabwe....
