THE country has recorded 9,707 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases between September and December 2025, a decrease from 12,378 in 2024, representing a 21.6 percent reduction countrywide. Despite the overall reduction, Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi says sexual abuse rose to 1,022 cases from 968 in the previous year, affecting mostly women and children.
