THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court, Subordinate Court Division, has heard that in 1993 former Foreign Affairs minister Joseph Malanji made a net sum of over US$200,000 from his transportation business. Malanji has also told the court that he started his business in 1987, under JM Bus Services. In this matter, former Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba is charged with two counts of wilful failure to comply with applicable law while Malanji is charged with eight counts of being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
