CHAMA North PF MP Yotam Mtayachalo has appealed to the Disaster Management Unit (DMMU) to provide aid to some residents who have been affected by severe floods in his constituency. Meanwhile, DMMU National Coordinator Norman Chipakupaku says MPs have no authority to declare disasters, insisting the Unit will only respond to reports made through proper committees and not to MPs “playing politics”.
