GOVERNMENT says it has commenced discussions with a Kenyan business delegation on the possibility of the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) exporting about 10.8 million 90kg bags of maize to Kenya. The Delegation says Kenya has declared a requirement of about 25 million 90kg bags, equivalent to roughly 2.2 million metric tonnes, following expectations of a below-normal harvest. This came to light yesterday, when Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for Finance and Economic Development Siazongo Siakalenge, chaired discussions between FRA and the Kenyan business delegation at Cabinet Office.
