Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) Media Liaison and Public Relations officer Calvin Kaleyi says this year’s Agritech Expo show will highlight the importance of diversification in agriculture.

In a statement, Kaleyi said the expo which will run from April 27 to 29 would also help exhibitors grow their businesses.

“This Business to Business agricultural platform is expected to help visitors and exhibitors alike to grow their businesses and increase profits and also create networks with industry professionals and new business and service suppliers,” Kaleyi stated.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr Edgar Lungu, is expected to make policy statements that will underpin his call for agricultural diversification as a catalyst to economic growth and poverty reduction.”

Kaleyi stated also stated that the expo would also unveil some of the latest agricultural technologies.

“The Expo will unveil (a) latest agricultural technologies and solutions (b) 21 crop trials; where among other things, crop yields will be compared and agro chemical trials will be conducted live (c) 200 local and international exhibitions (d) 18 knowledge packed workshops, including an army worm workshop, commercial farmers’ training workshop and an interactive workshop (e) A Technology Park (f) Massive show discounts and show deals and (g) international pavilions will showcase their agricultural technologies,” stated Kaleyi.
