A Lusaka woman has sued a suspended Catholic priest from Catholic Faith Mpika diocese, Father Benjamin Chisulo, for failing to payback debt amounting to over K70,000 which he borrowed from her to purchase a motor vehicle.

Prisca Chewe Chanda, who is Life Saves Medical Centre proprietor, stated in her statement of claim that she had an intimate relationship with the suspended priest for about two years.

Chanda is also claiming K9,000 being the money Father Chisulo; who is also a teacher at Kamwala South Secondary School, borrowed from her for his personal expense and also to help his relative.

The plaintiff is also demanding the payment of K27,800.00 which he borrowed through Xapit transactions from her bank account.

Chanda is also demanding for an order of preservation of the Toyota hilux surf registration number BAC 818.

“The Defendants failure to pay back all the monies owing and upon being reminded, he has instead resorted to threatening the Plaintiff herein and involving the police with the view of depriving the Plaintiff of her monies,” read the statement of claim.
