ZANACO will know their 2017 Champions League opponents at the month-end, when CAF will conduct the group stage draws on April 26 in Cairo.
But it clear already that it’s going to be a tough draw whichever way it goes for ZANACO with big guns seeded in three of the four pots for the group stage matches that will kickoff in May.
Pot A has record 8-time champion Al Ahly, five-time winners Zamalek who are both from Egypt.
2007 champions Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and  holds Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa complete Pot A.
Pot B has Al Hilal of Sudan, two-time champions Espérance from Tunisia, 1992 champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco
Pot C El Merreikh of Sudan, Coton Sport of Cameroon, 2014 runners-up AS Vita from DR Congo and Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya.
ZANACO are in Pot D meaning they will avoid Ferroviário Beira of Mozambique, CAPS United from Zimbabwe and Ethiopia’s St George.
This will be ZANACO’s debut appearance in the Champions League after playing in the 2010 Confederation Cup
