Zambia Under 17 midfielder Lameck Banda has been handed his senior debut call-up for Chipolopolo’s penultimate 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier away to Nigeria on October 7 in Uyo.

Banda is one of the provisional 20-member domestic list which coach Wedson Nyirenda released on Wednesday.

Banda inspired Zambia to its debut triumph in the Cosafa U17 Cup in Mauritius in July where Mumamba Numba’s side beat the tournament hosts 3-0 in the final.

The Nkwazi midfielder finished joint top scorer at the tournament with 5 goals.

However, his club-mate and striker Justin Shonga will miss the match due to injury.

Nyirenda will announce his overseas call-ups later this week.

Zambia are 2nd in Group B on 7 points, three behind Nigeria after five rounds of qualifying matches played.
