The Ministry of Finance through the Treasury has released K802.7 million towards the payment of public service workers’ salaries for the month of February.

According to a statement issued by Ministry of Finance Head of Public Relations Chileshe Kandeta, the funds have been transmitted to various commercial banks for allotment into workers’ accounts.

“The Treasury has released K802.7 million for public service workers salaries for the month of February, 2018. This is consistent with the guideline by the Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe to formulate a plan to ensure that workers’ salaries are timely paid. The funds have since been transmitted to various commercial banks for allotment in workers’ accounts. Some public service workers started receiving their salaries yesterday,” stated Kandeta.
