TWENTY-EIGHT tillers that were distributed in some chiefdoms countrywide by the Ministry of Gender have remained unutilized for four years as traditional leaders held on to them at their palaces. The Auditor General’s report has shown that the Ministry of Gender bought 40 tillers at K978, 248 for distribution to chiefdoms. But as of June this year, only 10 were in use, 28 were found parked and unutilized in 28 chiefdoms for over 48 months after being bought while two others were parked at the Ministry. The report further revealed that four beneficiary groups that received 100 chicks each recorded 90 percent motility while some hummer mills that were delivered in Kalulushi for empowerment were at the District Commissioner’s house....
