POLICE have recorded a warn and caution statement from KBN TV Station Manager Petty Chanda for allegedly destroying evidence of the leaked telephone conversation between two senior government officials.

In an interview, Monday, Katindo Mwale, a lawyer representing KBN TV, said police were still conducting investigations in the matter.

“The outcome is that they are still conducting investigations. They said they need more time, they are still investigating and they will let us know when they need us. The call out was for the Chief Executive Officer but it ended up being a warn and caution for the Station Manager in relation to destroying evidence concerning the audio. So we will wait for the police whenever they conclude the investigations,” said Mwale.

Last week Tuesday, KBN TV televised an audio in which Ministry of Home Affairs permanent secretary for administration Joseph Akafumba and Special Assistant to the President for Politics Levy Ngoma are heard plotting how to handle some leadership wrangles in the Democratic Party.
