FORMER defence minister George Mpombo has condemned the beating of police officers in Katete district but argues that it’s “cringeworthy and befuddling” that professionally trained cops can be overpowered by villagers. And Mpombo says government should consider rescinding its decision to engage a private firm to audit security wings, as it may have political consequences.
