LUSAKA and Eastern Provinces have recorded 96 new cholera cases with two deaths in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, traders at Lusaka’s Soweto Market have complained and expressed fear about the increased piles of uncollected garbage amid the cholera outbreak, despite paying fees to the local authority. According to information released by the Ministry of Health yesterday, the new cholera cases were recorded in Lusaka, Luangwa, Chilanga, Chongwe, Vubwi and Petauke districts. The cumulative number of cholera cases since January 26, 2023, now stands at 2,650, with 66 deaths and 1,634 discharges. Those in admission as at yesterday were 118. Meanwhile, traders at Soweto Market lamented that garbage had continued piling up despite them paying fees to the local authority...
