MINISTER of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu says the opposition should realise that government does not control the Judiciary directly or remotely. On Wednesday, Socialist Party president Fred M’membe said Nickson Chilangwa and Ronald Chitotela, who were recently convicted by the Kawambwa Magistrates’ Court, were simply victims of vengeance and retribution by those currently in power. He alleged that the UPND government wanted to secure a two-thirds majority in Parliament and amend the Constitution to prolong their stay in power.
