THE statement made by the Chief Justice in which he called for the defence and protection of gay rights has left Zambians divided in opinion. Even us, as a newspaper that published Justice Mumba Malila’s remarks have not been spared. Defenders of Human Rights and gay rights in particular have come in heavy to ridicule us over the matter. Some people have accused us of misinterpreting the message; others say we outrightly misquoted the learned Chief Justice.
