THE 2022 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Financial Survey Report has revealed that 1.9 million people were employed in the MSME sector in 2022. And Bank of Zambia Governor Dr Denny Kalyalya says high cost of credit, lack of collateral and proper documentation, and low income are affecting the operations of MSMEs. Meanwhile, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises Permanent Secretary Subeta Mutelo says public and private sectors need to provide more accessible financial services and products tailored to the needs of MSMEs.
