4TH Revolution Party president Eric Chanda yesterday pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to remit pension contributions to the National Pensions Scheme Authority for Cidel Plastics, a company where he serves as personal assistant to the company’s director.
In this case, Cidel Plastics is charged with one count of failure to produce documents which are required to be given to NAPSA without lawful excuse, contrary to Section 7(5) and (7) as read with Section 51(1) of the National Pensions Scheme Act number 40 of 1996.
When the case came up for plea before magistrate Nthandose Chabala, Chanda said he understood the charge but denied committing the offence.
Trial commences on December 22.
