THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced former deputy Inspector General of Police Charity Katanga to three years simple imprisonment for possession of 10 Higer buses suspected to be proceeds of crime. Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili says it is disheartening that Katanga committed the offence when she was a senior police officer, who everyone looked up to for protection of their lives and property. Katanga was facing one count of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
