THE Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia says the US Embassy’s findings that 95 per cent of pharmacies across the country sell stolen commodities may cast registered pharmacy professionals in an unfavorable light. PSZ has appealed to the US government to reconsider its decision to withdraw $50 million in annual support for medications and medical supplies. On Thursday, US Ambassador to Zambia Michael Gonzales announced that his government was cutting K1.4 billion in annual aid for malaria, HIV and TB medication due to the Zambian government’s failure to take action against theft of American-donated drugs.
