THE National Assembly says newly elected members of parliament will be required to report for registration and orientation on August 30. Clerk of the National Assembly Loveness Mayaka says this is in preparation for the commencement of the 14th National Assembly. Following the enactment of Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 last year, the number of parliamentary seats increased from 156 to 226, owing to the creation of 70 new constituencies across all 10 provinces. 224 newly elected MPs are expected to report this Sunday after the just ended general elections, as the ECZ is yet to declare the winner of the Mandevu seat.
