The Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) says the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final between Nkana Football Club and Zesco United Football Club will be held in Kitwe at Arthur Davies stadium on January 26, 2019.
This was contained in a statement released by FAZ communications manager Desmond Katongo.
“FAZ wishes to urge the public to turn up in numbers and support the two local giants. This is expected to be a clash of the titans because of the rivalry that currently exists between the two Copperbelt giants. It is also an important fixture for the clubs and the Association as it symbolises the beginning of the 2019 transitional league season,” he said.
“The Association wishes to urge both sets of fans to exhibit the spirit of fair play when the two clubs meet. FAZ has zero tolerance towards hooliganism from any football club and will not hesitate to dispense disciplinary action against erring clubs. The Association will not hesitate to ban supporters or clubs that indulge in behaviour that doesn’t promote the spirit of fair play.”
FAZ further urged the Zambian football fraternity to rally behind Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup.
“We wish to appeal to soccer fans across the country to support Nkana and Zesco United when they host San Pedro and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday and Sunday respectively,” said Katongo.
