The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has rescheduled the commencement of lower leagues, citing low levels of registration and late submission of application cards by clubs.
Association secretary general Adrian Kashala, who announced the development, said the move was aimed at ensuring that all clubs have player cards before the matches.
Division four league matches are scheduled to begin on the weekend of October 5-6, while games in other divisions are expected to begin earlier.
“Following our assessment of the current status on player registration, coupled with the printing of cards, it has become apparent that the Leagues that are yet to kick-off cannot all commence over this weekend chiefly because of the low levels of registration and late submissions of applications by clubs…We would like to advise the Clubs further to strictly observe the schedule and only come to Football House during the week in which the Registration Office will be dealing with their respective Leagues,” said Kashala.
